Helsinki Airport Crowned ‘Best in Europe’ for 2025

Travelers increasingly value cleanliness, clear navigation, and friendly service, according to the 2025 survey results.

Passengers have once again named Helsinki Airport the best in Europe for customer experience in the 15 to 25 million passenger category.

The prestigious Airport Service Quality award, granted by Airports Council International, is based on direct interviews with roughly 4,000 travelers at the Finnish hub.

Helsinki Airport is a critical gateway for internationals and immigrants living in Finland. It served nearly 17 million passengers in 2025, recovering strongly and solidifying its role as a major hub between Europe and Asia.

This latest recognition is not a coincidence. It follows a historic, decade-long investment program by the airport operator Finavia.

The billion-euro project completely overhauled the passenger experience. It brought extensive renewals to the departure hall, security control, and arrivals area.

Travelers increasingly value cleanliness, clear navigation, and friendly service, according to the 2025 survey results. The airport has also focused heavily on digital upgrades to meet these needs.

Tools like the myFlight service now give passengers personalized tips for navigating the terminals. Security waiting time forecasts also help reduce travel stress.

Laura Inttilรค, the new Senior Vice President of Helsinki Airport, emphasized the importance of this success. She noted that the airport serves as a strategically vital international hub for the whole country.

Looking ahead, management plans to lean into data and new technologies. The goal is to create proactive services and real-time solutions for an even smoother journey.

The award requires continuous high performance across 30 different service categories. Helsinki Airport previously won the title in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

This consistent success is a reassuring sign for Finland’s international community. It guarantees that their primary link to the rest of the world remains a top-tier operation.
