Investigators remained at the apartment throughout the evening to collect evidence and determine the sequence of events. They are currently looking into the background of both individuals to find a motive.

Malminkartano is a residential district in northern Helsinki, located approximately 10 kilometers from the city center. The area primarily consists of apartment buildings and is home to a diverse, multicultural community.

While Finland is generally considered one of the safest countries in the world, the national homicide rate often involves incidents occurring in private homes between people who know each other.

According to recent data from the Institute of Criminology and Legal Policy, a significant portion of Finnish homicides are domestic in nature.

The police have stated they will release more information once the preliminary investigation allows. Further details are expected as early as Sunday, February 8.
