Jumbo library: A new public library inside a major shopping centre

The library includes a dedicated quiet study area, a newspaper reading section, and a large children's zone equipped with a kitchen for snacks and warming food.

The City of Vantaa is opening a new public library inside the Jumbo shopping centre on October 15 at 9:00 am.

The facility spans approximately 1,400 square metres on the second floor of the shopping centre’s entertainment wing.

It replaces and expands upon the work of the former Pointti library as a shared community meeting place.

The interior follows a Forest of Thoughts design theme to create a calm atmosphere for reading and literature.

Opening hours run from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm on weekdays and from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekends.

The library includes a dedicated quiet study area, a newspaper reading section, and a large children’s zone equipped with a kitchen for snacks and warming food.

A multipurpose room and an entrance hall stage will host story hours, reading circles, book tips, and small events.

The opening celebrations will run for four days from October 15 to October 18.

The celebration programme features afternoon author visits, musical performances, workshops, theatre, and appearances by the Supermarsu character over the weekend.

Vantaa library services head Rauha Maarno states that the new branch offers fresh opportunities for reading, learning, culture, and togetherness.
