One person has been hospitalized following a violent attack inside a commercial space in Taka-Töölö, according to police.

Helsinki police are investigating a suspected attempted manslaughter after a violent stabbing on Monday afternoon. The attack took place on Mannerheimintie, a major thoroughfare in the Taka-Töölö district.

Emergency services received a report of an attack inside a commercial property located at Mannerheimintie 49. First responders arrived to find one person suffering from injuries that required immediate medical attention.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released further details about their current condition.

Police officers apprehended the suspected attacker a few kilometers away from the crime scene. The suspect is an approximately 40-year-old man.
