- Former Wolt courier launches new delivery app.
- Platform charges restaurants fixed fees, not commissions.
- Service launches in Helsinki region this October.
A former Wolt courier who lost his income due to recent platform policy changes is launching a new food delivery service in the Helsinki capital region this October.
Choudhary Karan Singh Nagra and his brother Choudhary Arjun Singh Nagra have founded Yumingo. The new platform aims to challenge established market leaders by offering an alternative pricing structure.
Karan Singh Nagra lost his delivery job in August. This happened after Wolt, a dominant delivery company in Finland, strictly banned the practice of renting courier accounts to other workers.
Account sharing had been a known practice among immigrant workers navigating the Finnish labor market. Instead of remaining unemployed, he partnered with his brother to create a competing service.
Finlandโs food delivery market is heavily consolidated around two major players, Wolt and Uber Eats. These standard platforms typically charge restaurants high percentage-based commissions on every order.
Reportedly, Yumingo will not charge a percentage commission. Restaurants will instead pay a fixed monthly subscription fee between 25 and 36 euros.
For delivery orders, Yumingo applies a tiered flat fee to the restaurant. This fee is capped at a maximum of 4.49 euros per order.

Co-founder Arjun Singh Nagra emphasized the need for a more sustainable system for local entrepreneurs.
“Our goal is to keep pricing as transparent as possible so that the restaurant can keep more of every order, and the food price for the customer can be kept as close as possible to the restaurant’s own menu price,” he said in a public statement.
Consumers will not pay a separate percentage-based service fee, which has become standard on traditional delivery apps. The customer delivery fee will vary based on distance but is said to never exceed 4.99 euros.
The founders also plan to introduce a more stable compensation model for couriers. Their goal is to ensure driver earnings are based on the work itself rather than relying on customer tips.
Yumingo will begin operations with 25 partner restaurants. The founders intend to grow the service gradually across the capital region.
